13 Years of Saving Food And Profit

Thirteen years ago, on March 15, we started with a stubborn belief: food waste isn't just an environmental disaster—it's a massive operational failure. Today, we’re looking back at the journey from a bold Thai startup to a UN-recognized global force.

This isn't just a trip down memory lane; it’s a blueprint for what happens when you stop feeding the bin and start fixing the system. Here is how we turned food waste action into measurable results.

2013 | The Launch: Systems Over Symptoms

Lightblue officially begins. From day one, our mission was clear: systemic food waste prevention in the hospitality sector. We didn't want to just talk about the problem; we wanted to build the tools to solve it.

2017 | Proving the ROI: 321,488 kg Saved in Thailand

Partnering with TCEB, we proved that sustainability is the ultimate profit driver. From 2017 to 2020, we helped major hotel chains save over 37M THB. We showed the industry that scraps are receipts and the numbers didn't lie.

2020 | Fine Dining Goes Zero-Waste

We took the Michelin Star Revelation Thailand zero-waste. It was a milestone for the "Zero Food Waste to Landfill" movement, proving that high-end hospitality and high-efficiency operations aren't just compatible—they’re a perfect match.

2020 | The Digital Pivot: FIT Tech is Born

Theory became a tool. We created the first FIT Mobile App prototype, moving from manual spreadsheets to a data-driven system designed to fix the fridge and the kitchen workflow simultaneously.

2020 | Scaling Knowledge: The Birth of Lightblue Learning

While the world paused, we moved online. Our first Online Food Waste Workshop proved that sustainable standards could be taught and scaled globally, regardless of borders. This was the DNA of what is now Lightblue Learning.

2021 | Global Recognition: UN Best Small Business Winner

The United Nations recognized us for "Good Food for All." It was a proud moment that proved being a small business doesn't limit your ability to trash the norms on a global stage.

2021 | Impact in Mauritius: 43% Average Reduction

Through Business Mauritius, 10 organizations used FIT to slash food waste and save $209,717 in a single year. This wasn't just a pilot; it was change that sticks across an entire island ecosystem.

2022 | Corporate Scale: The Hyatt Success Story

Our first major cluster pilot with Hyatt proved our scalability. We trained 115 people and delivered a massive 36% average reduction in food waste. This was the proof of concept for global hotel chains everywhere.

2023 | The Seven-Figure Club: 1 Million KG Saved

A massive milestone for the movement. We officially hit the 1M kg mark in cumulative food waste diverted from landfills. This is what happens when you combine human grit with smart technology.

2025 | Evolution: A New Brand for a Sharper Mission

Lightblue rebranded. Our new look reflects the high-energy, high-impact work we do in commercial kitchens every day. We aren't just consultants; we are partners in the fight for a circular economy. #ShiftHappens.

2025 | Tech Excellence: The Solar Impulse Award

Our technology was officially recognized by Solar Impulse as a proven, scalable solution to slash operational costs and emissions globally. FIT isn't just an app; it's a world-class solution for the modern kitchen.

The rot stops here.

We’ve spent 13 years refining the system—now let’s spend the next decade scaling the impact. We’re just getting started.
